Xcalibur FHC & FSC Reign Supreme!

Xcalibur FHC & FSC Reign Supreme!

The curtains came down on the 4th Annual Junior Premier Indoor League this weekend with the crowning of our U-14 Champions, Xcalibur FHC. Even with the severe weather conditions throughout the Eastern seaboard this winter, we were still able to have a successful conclusion to this premier indoor event.

With USA FH following our lead and going to two periods of 20 minutes at all its NIT’s, all of our JPIL participants will be well prepared and ready to compete.

After six league dates of competitive Indoor hockey on a consistent and regular basis, we can truly say that the benefits can been seen in the improvements by all Clubs from the games played on the first League date on December 27th to the two Championship weekends. This is very commendable and is attributed to the commitment made by the players, parents and coaches alike.

Those in attendance at the Championships witnessed some very exciting and thrilling finishes. We saw a few games decided by the FIH Shoot-Out format. It was a day of intense competition as we brought the 2015 JPIL to a conclusion.

The U-14 Division, Xcalibur FHC, who was undefeated in Pool play had an easy time against High Styx FH in the Championship game, winning comfortably 7 – 2. The team scored early and never looked back, playing nicely as a cohesive unit. High Styx FH had quite a few sparks and some nice scoring opportunities, but Xcalibur was solid, strong and comfortable.

In the U-16 Divison, XCalibur FHC was not able to retain the Championship, as new comer FSC took home the Championship Trophy with a 5 – 0 victory led by Dita’s Most Goals and MVP recipients, Riley Donnelly and Bryn Boylan respectively.

Both Xcalibur and FSC got to the Championship game after hotly contested semi-finals. FSC was able to get by Freedom 5 – 4 after a four-goal effort from Freedom’s Margot Lawn. The other semi-final was between the 2014 Champions High Styx FH and Xcalibur FHC, with Xcalibur coming away in a slim 4 – 3 victory.

In the U-19 Division, Xcalibur FHC was only able to get to the championship game by defeating The Gaels FHC in the semi-finals after a 4 – 4 regulation score and three rounds of shoot-out competition. They were then able to reclaim the Championship Trophy that was lost in 2014 with a comfortable 3-1 win over FC United. Last year’s Champion High Styx FH was unable to defend their Championship and did not make it to the Championship bracket.

Special Recognition was given to the following individuals who were each presented with a $200.00 Gift Certificate thanks to the generosity of our Award‘s Sponsor, Dita USA.

U-14 Most League Goals: Jordan Van Dermark, Total Dutch
