With a brisk cold wind blowing on a beautiful sunny day, the Regional Outdoor Club League (ROCL) got off to a great start. After being locked up indoors for the winter months, it was good to get out into the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine.
The battle to see which Club will reign supreme and be crowned the 2013 JPOL Champion has officially begun, with lots of excitement, a good level of competition and officiating, giving all a preview of what’s to come. All of it will only get better as clubs start their outdoor training for various USA Field Hockey events using this ROCL as a key element in their preparation.
The majority of games played yesterday were in the U-19 Division as some of the Clubs prepare for the RCC in two weeks time on the weekend of April 27 & 28. The U-16 RCC will be held on the weekend of May 4 & 5.
Although it is very early with lots of games still to be played, Jersey Intensity FH and Total Dutch FH top the leader board in the U-16 Division, each with six points. In the U-19 Division, South Jersey Edge and Jersey Intensity FH top the leader board each with seven points.
With the start of this new League concept, we hope it will benefit all participants. We appreciate your patience, corporation and understanding as we work through any and all issues in order to make this league better in 2014 and beyond.
The next ROCL date is April 28, 2013 at the Rutgers University, Sport Club and University Fields located at:
University Park & Recreation Complex
656 Bartholomew Road
Piscataway, NJ 08854
We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks!
