JPIL Date 1: 28 Dec 2012

On a busy Friday morning just a few days after Christmas, 23 teams traveled to Feasterville for the start of the 2013 JPIL. The battle to see which Clubs will be crowned the 2013 JPIL Champion got off to a great start, with lots of excitement, high level of competition, good officiating and giving all a preview of what’s to come.

This year, with the inclusion of the U-16 division, we saw six of the twelve clubs going undefeated on the first day. In the U-16 Division both Xcalibur FHC and East Coast FH start with perfect records of three wins and no losses. A total of one hundred and seventeen (117) goals were scored and leading the way is Margaux Paolino of Xcalibur FHC with seven.

In the U-19 division, the 2012 JPIL Champions Xcalibur FHC is again off to a great start and setting the competitive bar very high. They won all three games, scoring thirty-five goals and conceding only seven.

Also with perfect records are Jersey Intensity FH, the 2012 JPIL runners-up, and Spark FHC, who is playing good indoor hockey. Both clubs may be considered early favorites in this year’s competition. Also going undefeated after the first day is High Styx FH who is making their first League appearance and has shown that they belong.

One hundred and sixty (160) goals were scored with Casey Umstead and Gabrielle Major of Xcalibur FHC taking the early lead with ten and nine goals each.

Twenty Four teams representing fourteen Clubs will be battling it out over five more dates to see who will reign supreme come February 23rd to be crowned the 2013 Princess Junior Premier Indoor U-16 and U-19 Champions.

All of the results will be available a few days after each league date on both the JPIL web site at www.JPIL.net and USFHA web site www.usafieldhockey.com.

Next JPIL date is January 21, 2013 at the Sportsplex at Feasterville.

We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks!
Happy and Successful New Year!
