As we continue to prepare for the upcoming indoor season, various circumstances surrounding COVID-19 are having an impact on all of our plans. Although it was not unexpected, we were hopeful that the environment would maintain or possibly improve. However, this has not been the case and as such, in recent weeks:
- New Jersey’s governor implemented a mandate for no interstate indoor sports and thus out of state teams are no longer permitted at Total Turf nor are NJ teams permitted to travel to out-of-state games
- Connecticut has prohibited team travel to out-of-state games
- Many of the states of JPIL participating clubs and staff have increased interstate travel restrictions thus making it inadvisable for many clubs to compete at our events
- Nationwide COVID infections are trending upward
As an organization, we at Junior Premier Hockey strive to host for your benefit, highly organized and competitive events. To do so, we work to invite elite level clubs, umpires and tech staff that now includes residents from PA, NJ, DE, MD, NY, VA, MA, CT and OH. Unfortunately, our endeavor becomes less and less practical as government restrictions and the threats of the pandemic increases.
Therefore, we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel all 2021 JPIL events – Invitational and U14s – for the health and safety of all of our participants.
We are fully aware that this is not an ideal situation. However, we hope that for those who can still compete, this decision will allow more time to reschedule other safer options within your local areas. Also, with fewer sunk costs at this point in our season preparations, we have decided to reduce the non-refundable admin fee from $100 down to $50/team. Please allow approximately 5 days for your refunds to be deposited into your accounts.
Thank you very much for your understanding during this difficult time. We wish you all the best through the course of this season and hope to be bringing hockey back to you in spring 2021.
Stay safe and be well
